The Old Synagogue in Kraków's Kazimierz. A guidebook.

The WWII brought about the annihilation of Kraków's Jewry and their heritage. Jewish property, both private and public, was plundered and to a large extent destroyed. The historical and artistic heritage, which fortunately survived the Holocaust era is carefully preserved in museums, libraries and archives in Poland and abroad. In 1958 a collection of judaica in the Historical Museum of the city of Kraków was initiated, and the Division for the History and Culture of Kraków's Jews created in the historical Old Synagogue in Kraków's Kazimierz. The synagogue is owned by the Jewish Religious Community in Kraków which supports the Museum's mission to preserve and pass to generations to come the memory and heritage of Kraków Jewry.
