Discounts and free admission

Rules for purchasing group, discounted, and family tickets at the Historical Museum of the City of Krakow.

1. The following persons are entitled to purchase discounted tickets:

a) students of primary, secondary, upper secondary, art schools, students, and doctoral students
b) persons over 65 years of age, retirees, disability pensioners, social pensioners, as well as persons with disabilities and their carers
c) teachers of primary, secondary, upper secondary, art schools, teachers of educational and childcare institutions, correctional facilities, shelters for minors, and diagnostic and consultation centers
d) individuals awarded the “For the Care of Monuments”, the “Distinguished Cultural Activist” honorary badge, the “Distinguished for Polish Culture” honorary badge, or the honorary title “Distinguished for National Culture”
e) veterans
f) persons participating in partnership programs in which the Historical Museum of the City of Krakow participates, under the conditions specified in those programs

g) anti-communist opposition activists and persons repressed for political reasons – within the meaning of Articles 2 and 3 of the Act of March 20, 2015, on anti-communist opposition activists and persons repressed for political reasons (i.e. Journal of Laws of 2017, item 1386).

2.The following are eligible to purchase a family ticket:

a) two adults and up to two children under the age of 16
b) one adult and up to three children under the age of 16

3. The following groups of adults are eligible to purchase a group ticket:

a) 15 people or more (including guardians) – for the permanent exhibition at the Oskar Schindler’s Enamel Factory branch
b) at least 10 people (including guardians) for the permanent exhibition at the Rynek Underground branch
c) at least 10 people (including guardians) for the other branches and subsidiaries of branches of the Museum

4. Groups consisting of primary, secondary, upper secondary, art school students, as well as university students, are eligible to purchase discounted group tickets.

5.Documents confirming eligibility for a discount on admission to the Museum are:
a) school IDs, student IDs, doctoral student IDs, doctoral student IDs
b) pensioner/retiree IDs
c) IDs documenting disability or degree of disability
d) service IDs issued to the following persons: teachers of primary, secondary, upper secondary, and art schools, teachers of educational and childcare institutions, correctional facilities, shelters for minors, and diagnostic and consultation centers
e) IDs certifying the award of a badge, order, or medal to the following persons: natural persons awarded the “For the Protection of Monuments” badge, the “Distinguished Cultural Activist” honorary badge, the “Distinguished Service to Polish Culture” honorary badge, or an honorary title  “Meritorious for National Culture”
f) certificates or IDs confirming veteran status
g) ICOM Membership Card and ICOMOS Membership Card
h) documents confirming age

II. LARGE FAMILY CARD (for large families)

50% discount on the purchase of regular admission tickets to all MHK branches for permanent and temporary exhibitions; the document entitling you to the discount is the Large Family Card.

III. KRAKOW FAMILY CARD

50% discount on the purchase of regular admission tickets to all branches of the MHK. Admission to the Rynek Underground branch and Oskar Schindler's Enamel Factory is possible after prior reservation.

IV. KRAKOW FOR FAMILIES “N”

Holders of the Krakow Family Card with a Disabled Child are entitled to a 50% discount on the purchase of regular and reduced-price tickets to all exhibitions available at the Museum's branches and subsidiaries.

V. eMHaKa Club

Members of the MHK Club are entitled to unlimited free admission to all permanent and temporary exhibitions in all branches of the Museum on the basis of a purchased/selected card (family, bronze, silver, gold).

VI. Society of Lovers of Krakow History and Monuments

Members of the Society are entitled to free admission to all exhibitions held at the Museum's branches and affiliates upon presentation of their Society membership card.

VII. Anti-communist opposition activists and persons repressed for political reasons.

Anti-communist opposition activists and persons repressed for political reasons who hold a valid ID card are entitled to visit exhibitions at the Museum of Krakow and attend ticketed events organized by the Museum after purchasing a special ticket at a promotional price of PLN 1 gross. 

VIII. Veterans and disabled veterans are exempt from the museum admission fee.

IX. KRAKOW CARD

20% discount on the purchase of regular and reduced-price tickets to all branches of the MHK for permanent and temporary exhibitions. The document entitling you to the discount is the Krakow Card in traditional and mobile form. The discount cannot be combined with other cards and promotions.

Exemption from admission fees to the Museum

Exemption from admission fees to the Museum, subject to the obligation to make a prior reservation at Museum branches where reservations are required, is granted to:

a) individuals awarded the Order of the White Eagle, the Virtuti Militari War Order, the Order of Merit of the Republic of Poland, and the “Meritorious to Culture Gloria Artis” medal,
b) employees of museums registered in the National Museum Register ,
c) members of the International Council of Museums (ICOM) or the International Council on Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS),
d) holders of the Polish Card referred to in the Act of September 7, 2007 on the Polish Card (Journal of Laws No. 180, item 1280 and of 2008 No. 52, item 305),
e) children under 7 years of age,
f) members of the Association of Polish Museologists,
g) members of the Society of Lovers of Krakow History and Monuments of Krakow,
h) members of the MHK Club,
i) anti-communist opposition activists and persons repressed for political reasons - within the meaning of Articles 2 and 3 of the Act of March 20, 2015, on anti-communist opposition activists and persons repressed for political reasons
(i.e. Journal of Laws of 2017, item 1386),
j)      members of the Federation of Guide Associations, including:
  • the Educational Association Royal Castle in Krakow,
  • the Association of Tour Guides and Tour Leaders Gaudeamus,
  • the Association of Guides and Popularizers of Knowledge of Kraków “Krąg”
  • the Association of Tourist Guides in Kraków,
  • the Professional City Guides Association in Kraków “Secesja”,
  • the Guides Association “Renesans”,
k)    guides holding from the Kraków Museum a valid Advanced Guide Beneficiary Card 2.0 or a valid guide certificate authorizing tours on the Memory Route or the Underground Market,
l) PTTK (Polish Tourist and Sightseeing Society) guides,
m) city guides holding an ID card issued by the Governor of Małopolska Province or the Marshal of Małopolska Province.

The documents confirming the right to a discount or exemption from the admission fee to the Museum are:

a) school IDs, student IDs, doctoral student IDs, doctoral student IDs,
b) pensioner/retiree IDs,
c) cards documenting disability or degree of disability,
d) service cards issued to persons referred to in § 2(2)(c) and § 3(b),
e) cards certifying the award of a badge, order, or medal to persons referred to in § 2(2)(d) and § 3(a),
f) certificates or cards confirming veteran status,
g)  ICOM Membership Card and ICOMOS Membership Card,
h) Polish Card (Karta Polaka),
i)  documents confirming age,
j) Polish Museum Association ID,
k) IDs referred to in Article 6(3) of the Act of March 20, 2015, on anti-communist opposition activists and persons repressed for political reasons  (i.e. Journal of Laws of 2017, item 1386),
l) membership card of the Society of Lovers of History and Monuments of Krakow,
m) personal ID issued by the Federation of Guide Associations or ID card certifying membership in an association listed in § 3(j) of this regulation,
n) current Guide for Advanced Users 2.0 beneficiary card issued by the Museum of Krakow.
o) a current guide certificate issued by the Museum of Krakow entitling the holder to guide visitors along the Memory Route or the Underground Market Square,
p) a guide ID card issued by PTTK,
q) a city guide ID card issued by the Governor of Małopolska Province or the Marshal of Małopolska Province.

Free Admission Card Regulations

Dear Sir or Madam,

Free Admission Cards are issued to business partners, subcontractors, and individuals who contribute significantly to the development of the Museum of Krakow. Participation in competitions organized by the museum is also an opportunity to receive such a card.

1.Free admission cards (hereinafter referred to as Cards or Card) are issued by employees of the Promotion Department.

2. Cards are issued for a given calendar year and are valid only in the calendar year to which they refer.

3. The limit on the number of Cards prepared for a given calendar year is set by the Head of the Promotion Department together with the Director of the Museum, no later than by the end of November of the previous year.

4. The Cards allow free admission to all permanent and temporary exhibitions at the branches of the Historical Museum of the City of Krakow.

5.The Cards are issued to natural persons or legal persons (institutions).

6. A natural person signs the Card with their first and last name. A legal entity signs the Card with its company name (in full or abbreviated form, but allowing for its identification).

7. Only a signed Card is valid.

8. A maximum of two people can use one Card for free admission at a time. In the case of individuals, this will be the signed cardholder and a guest.

9. In the case of legal entities (institutions), the one-time limit for entries on all Cards held is a maximum of 15 people to each of the Museum's branches.

10. Admission is conditional upon presentation of a valid Card or Cards at the Museum Branch Ticket Office.

11. The ticket office employee is required to record the name and surname of the person or the name of the legal entity that used the card on a given day.

12. When booking a ticket through COZ, the card user's details must be provided, along with the number of free tickets that the cardholder intends to use on a given day.

13. In the case of exhibitions for which ticket reservations are required, the condition for using the Card is the current availability of tickets for a given visiting time. If the pool of tickets for a given time is exhausted, the Cashier is obliged to offer the Cardholder the opportunity to visit at the next available time (hour).

14. Each Cardholder may use their Card once a day at each of the Museum's branches.

15. Each Cardholder is responsible for the persons who use the cards made available by them.

16. In the event of a breach of the rules of use of the Cards, the Cards may be confiscated by a Museum employee who discovers the abuse.
