A Guide contains descriptions of the 15 branches of the Historical Museum of Krakow.
The great value of the Historical Museum of the City of Kraków, and at the same time its source of pride and great responsibility, lies in the fact that it is composed of a number of branches, all located in historical buildings recognizable in Poland and beyond as icons of our history and culture.
The round Barbican with St. Florian's Gate and the defense walls, the Town Hall Tower, the Old Synagogue in Kazimierz or the Krzysztofory Palace are fantastic examples of old Polish secular and sacral architecture of this multi-cultural city. This line-up is complemented with modern structures like the Oscar Schindler Factory and the social realist blocks of flats in Nowa Huta, one of which houses the branch devoted to the history of this important part of Kraków.
The buildings themselves constitute smaller and greater chapters of history, not only of the local community of Kraków, but the history of the whole Polish nation and Europe alike.
