Comic book by cartoonist Thomas Bereźnicki presents Kraków’s pharmacist Tadeusz Pankiewicz and his fate during the Nazi occupation.
History focuses on Pankiewicz’s fate at the time of the Kraków’s ghetto (years 1941-1943) and tells the story of Tadeusz Pankiewicz’s noble actions - saving Jews from death at the hands of the Nazis. Pankiewicz’s Pharmacy not only provided the ghetto with the medicine. From the beginning it was a special place. Jews met there to get messages from the ghetto and keep in touch with the people at the "Aryan" side of the city. Staff pharmacy has become a link between the two worlds. Pankiewicz described his memories in the book "Pharmacy in the Kraków’s ghetto." It became the basis for drawing a comic book "The Pharmacist in the Kraków’s ghetto." Its author, Thomas Bereźnicki, Krakow cartoonist, painter and graphic artist, winner of many competitions, comic book, was awarded three times for his work on the Warsaw Uprising. The idea behind the publication is to promote knowledge about Tadeusz Pankiewicz and his ethical attitude in times of danger.
