This book has been published as a companion to the exhibition at the Old Synagogue.

The idea behind the exhibition is to introduce the history of one of the most significant Jewish institutions in Kraków before World War II. Throughout the three decades of its existence, the school attracted Jewish Youth from the environments that has assimilated into the Polish culture. Its pupils were educated in the spirit of enhancing their identity of Jew-Poles, who were developing a sense of responsibility for Poland, their first motherland, but also having in view their primary goal which was in helping build the longed-for Jewish statehood in Palestine. Practically all former students at the Hebrew Secondary School shared the conviction that if it had not been for the school, their lives would never have become that enriched.
