Rules for visiting exhibitions at the Podgórze Museum
1. The permanent exhibition ‘In the Shadow of Krak’s Mound’ and the temporary exhibition, on display at the Podgórze Museum, a branch of the Krakow Museum (Krakow, ul. Powstańców Wielkopolskich 1), hereinafter referred to as the Exhibitions, will be open to visitors. Tuesday 10.00 – 17.00, Wednesday 11.00 – 19.00, Thursday – Sunday 10.00 – 17.00 – subject to paraghraphs 2 and 4.
2. The last admission to the Exhibitions is 30 minutes before closing time for individual visitors, and 60 minutes before closing time for groups.
3. Visits to the Exhibitions are possible as individual viits (i. e. 1 to 9 people) or group visits (i. e. 10 to a maximum 25 people).
4. On Sundays, between 3.00 pm and 5.00 pm, ‘quite hours’ are iontroduced in the permanent exhibition to accommodate visitors with special needs. During these quite hours, group visits and guided tours are not permitted. All multimedia displays in the exhibition are switched off, and visitors are required to remain silent.
5. Visitors can book a tour via the website https://bilety.muzeumkrakowa.pl/, as well as purchase or book an additional guided tour of the permanent exhibition, which is charged in accordance with the price list set out in Annex 2 to the Museum Director’s Order No. 123/2019 of 26 November 2019 on admission tickets to permanent exhibitions at the days before the date of the visit.
6. The purchase or booking of a guided tour must be made at least 4 days before the date of the tour, via the website https://bilety.muzeumkrakowa.pl/
7. Visitors must purchase a guided tour service for their chosen tour date, as available in the booking system, and are required to arrive at the Museum no later than the scheduled tour time. The guide will wait for visitors for 15 minutes from the scheduled tour time; if visitors do not arrive within this time, the service will not be provided and the Museum shall not be obliged to the cost of the service.
8. The Museum permits visitors to view the Exhibition with an external guide.
9. Individual visitors and organised groups who book a tour including a guide service are obliged to notify the Museum should they cancel the service or the tour.
10. Notification must be given at least five calendar days before the tour date by email to: info@muzeumkrakowa.pl or in person at the Visitor Service Centre located at Krzysztofory Palace, Krakow, Rynek Główny 35.
11. In the event of failure to give timely notice of cancellation of the guided tour service or the visit, those making the booking will be charged a contractual penalty of 150.00 PLN by the Historical Museum of the City of Krakow. The penalty must be paid within 14 days of the date of notification of its imposition, to the Historical Museum of the City of Krakow’s bank account no. 95 1020 2892 0000 5102 0591 0361.
12. Persons who ahev been notified of the impositions of a contractual penalty are entitled to lodge an appeal against it within a strickt deadline of 3 calendar days from the date of receipt of the notification. The appeal, together with a statement of reasons, must be submitted in writing to the Historical Museum of the City of Krakow, Krakow, Rynek Główny 35. The final decision on the penalty, following an investigation, shall be taken by the Director of the Museum or persons authorised by him.

Admission tickets can be purchased at the ticket office and on the website https://bilety.muzeumkrakowa.pl/
15. When purchasing admission tickets at the ticket office, the Museum recommends using payment cards.
16. An admission ticket purchased for the permanent exhibition entitles the holder to visit the temporary exhibition on display at the Podgórze branch of the Museum on the day of purchase.
17. Thursday are free admission days for the permanent exhibition. On these days, visitors wishing to view the temporary exhibition are required to purchase an admission ticket for that exhibition at the price set for the specific temporary exhibition.
18. The rules governing visits to the permanent exhibitions of the Museum of Krakow on days when admission is free are set out in the Director’s Order no. 39/2023.
19. It is prohibited to bring the following into the exhibitions:
a) Any weapons, ammunition or objects deemed potentially dangerous,
b) Explosive, flammable or toxic materials,
c) Long umbrellas,
d) Rucksacks and large luggage with a capacity exceeding 30 liters,
e) Animals, with the exceptation of assistance dogs accompanying with disabilities.
20. Visitors must follow the established direction and order of the tour when viewing the exhibition.
21. Once you have finished your visit and left the exhibition area, you will not be able to re-enter it.
22. Within the exhibition area of the Branch, it is prohibited to consume food and drink smoke tobacco or e-cigarettes, or make telephone calls.
23. Entry to the Wing is prohibited to anyone who is intoxicated or under the influence of drugs or intoxicating substances, or who behaves in a manner that could endanger the safety of the other people, the premises or rhe cultural artefacts housed therein, disrupt the smooth running of visits, or breach generally accepted standards of behaviour in public places.
24. Whilst in the Branch, visitors must comply with the instructions and recommendations of the Museum’s staff and security personnel.
25. Parents of guardians are liable for any damage caused by children in their care.
26. The Museum reserves the right to refuse entry to or ask individual visitors to leave if they fail to observe the rules for visiting the Exhibition or beach these Regulations.
