Włodzimierz Tetmajer. The power of colour and temper

It's a monographic exhibition – a comprehensive presentation of the creative output – the first exhibition of this type and scale of the work of Włodzimierz Tetmajer (1861–1923).

The dominant part of the exhibition is devoted to painting, covering both easel and monumental painting. It encompasses oil paintings, painting sketches, as well as designs of polychromes and illustrations. In the exhibition area, thematic spaces were sectioned off and devoted to the following themes: biography, etnographic work, illustration work, political activity.

The exhibition presented on the occassion of the hundreth anniversary of the death of Włodzimierz Tetmajer fits into the wider context of nationwide commemoration. The Senate of the Republic of Poland announced the year 2023 to be the year of Włodzimierz Tetmajer, a painter and a leading representative of the Young Poland period, a politician and independence activist. Additional exhibition-related events complement the exhibition.
