Visiting Rules – Nowa Huta 37
§1 General provisions
1. The exhibition ‘State of Emergency’ at the branch of the Historical Museum of the City of Krakow – Nowa Huta Underground (Krakow, os. Szkolne 22), hereinafter reffered to as the Exhibition, will be open to the public from Wednesday to Sunday between 10.00 and 17.00 – subject to paragraphs 2 and 5.
2. The last admission to the Exhibition is 30 minutes before closing time – for individual visitors without a guide – and 60 minutes before closing time – for visitor with a guide.
3. Visits to the exhibition are available as individual tours (i. e. 1 to 9 people) or group tours (i. e. 10 to 20 people).
4. Free admission is on Wednesdays.
5. On Thursdays, from 3.00 pm to 5.00 pm, with visitors with special needs in mind, ‘quiet hours’ are introduced. During quiet hours, group tours and guided tours are not permitted. All multimedia displays in the exhibition are switched off, and visitors are required to remain silent.
6. The museum reserves the right to close its branches and subsidiaries or to reduce their opening hours.

§2 Ticket sales and bookings
1. Tickets for the Exhibition and the Walking Tours can be purchased at the ticket offices located at both branches of Nowa Huta Underground (os. Szkolne22, os. Szkolne 37) at the Visitor Centre and on the website https://muzeumkrakowa.pl/en.
2. The purchase of tickets via the website is governed by the rules set out in the Terms and Conditions for Online Ticket Sales, available on the website specified in paragraph 1, subject to the rules set out in these Terms and Conditions.
3. Failure to book in advance or purchase admission tickets may result in you being unable to enter the Exhibition.
4. When purchasing tickets at the ticket office, the Museum recommends using payment cards.
5. The date and time of the tour are stated on the ticket.
6. The museum publishes ticket prices and information about free admission days on its website: https://muzeumkrakowa.pl/en. Ticket prices and the cost of guided tours are set by order of the Museum Director.
7. Information on those entitled to free admission, as well as to purchase concessionary and family tickets, and the types of documents that must be presented on entry to the Exhibition to confirm eligibility for a concessionary rate or exemption from the Museum’s admission fee is available at https://muzeumkrakowa.pl/en/discounts-and-free-admission.
8. An admission ticket to the ‘State of Emergency’ exhibition at the Nowa Huta Underground btanch entitles the holder to a single entry, within 7 days of purchase, to the ‘Cold War Heritage’ exhibition at the Nowa Huta Underground branch (Krakow, os. Szkolne 22) during its opening hours.

§3 Guided tours
1. Visitors can purchase or book admission tickets via the website https://bilety.mhk.pl/rezerwacja/lokalizacja.html?lang=en, as well as purchase or book a guided tour of the Exhibition.
2. The museum allows visitors to view the exhibition with an external guide.
3. The maximum size of an organised group visiting the Exhibition at any one time is 20 people, including supervisors, the tour leader and the guide. The tour of the Exhibition lasts approximately 45 minutes.
4. Tours that include a guided service can also arranged as part of the ‘Walks’ programme:
a) “Nowa Huta shelters: exhibitions and a walk”
The walk includes a guided tour of the exhibitions and shelters at the Nowa Huta Underground Branch at Szkolne 22 and Szkolne 37, as well as a walk between the two locations. During the walk, the guide will explain the history of the shelters in the Nowa Huta district. The tour begins at os. Szkolne 22 and lasts 90 minutes. You can book the walk via the booking system in time slots available from 10.00 to 15.00 every 90 minutes. The maximum number of participants per walk is 20.
b) A walk around Nowa Huta
The walk is a guided tour of the Nowa Huta district. The tour starts at os. Szkolne 22 and lasts 120 minutes. Bookings can be made via the booking system in time slots available from 10.00 to 15.00, every 120 minutes. During the walk, the guide presents the history and distinctive features of the Nowa Huta district. The maximum number of participants per walk is 30.
5. Purchases or bookings for tours including a guided tour of the Exhibition or Walking Tours must be made at least 4 days before the tour date, via the website https://bilety.mhk.pl/rezerwacja/lokalizacja.html?lang=en.
6. Visitors purchase a guided tour service for their chosen date of the Exhibition or Walking Tour available via the booking system, by selecting the guided tour service and the appropriate number of tickets. For the ‘Nowa Huta shelters: exhibition and walking tour’, a fee for the guided tour service applies in accordance with the current price list =, whilst admission tickets are included in the price of tickets for the Exhibition. For the ‘A Walk Around Nowa Huta’ tour, a guide service fee applies in accordance with the current price list, whilst admission tickets for participants remain free of charge; you are only required to specify the number of ticket when booking.
7. On the day of the tour, visitors who have booked or purchased a guided tour service are required to arrive at the Branch or at the designated locations indicated as the starting point of the tour by the scheduled tour time at the latest. The guide will wait for visitors for 15 minutes from the tour time states on the tickets; if visitors do not arrive within this time, the service will not be provided, and the Museum shall not be obliged to refund the cost of the service.
8. Individual visitors and groups booking a guided tour are required, in the event of cancelling the service or the tour, to notify the Museum of this fact, subject to paragraph9. Notification must be made by email to the following address: info@muzeumkrakowa.pl.
9. Where notice of cancellation of a guided tour is given less than 4 days before the date of the tour, the Museum shall regard such cancellation as late, resulting in the imposition of a contractual penalty.
10. In the event of failure to give timely notice of cancellation of the guided tour service or the sightseeing tour, the Historical Museum of the City of Krakow will charge those making the booking a contractual penalty of 250 PLN. The penalty must be paid within 14 days of the date of notification of its imposition, to the Historical Museum of the City of Krakow’s bank account no. 95 1020 2892 0000 5102 0591 0361.
11. Persons who have been notified of the imposition of a contractual penalty are entitled to lodge an appeal against it within a strict deadline of 3 days from the date of receipt of the notification. The appeal, together with a statement of reasons, should be sent to: info@muzeumkrakowa.pl or in writing to the Historical Museum of the City of Krakow, Krakow, Rynek Główny 35. The final decision on the penalty, following an investigation, is taken by the Director of the Museum or persons authorised by him.

§4 Refunds
1. Tickets purchased at the box office are non-refundable. Tickets purchased via the website are refundable in accordance with the rules set out in the Terms and Conditions for Online Ticket Sales, available on the website specified in §2(1).
§5 Rules for visitors to the Exhibition
1. It is forbidden to bring the following items into the Exhibition:
a) Any weapons, ammunition or items deemed potentially dangerous,
b) Explosive, flammable and toxic materials,
c) Long umbrellas,
d) Rucksacks and large luggage with a capacity exceeding 30 litres,
e) Bringing animals onto the premises, with the exception of assistance dogs for people with disabilities
2. Visitors should view the exhibition in accordance with the designated route and order of visit.
3. Once you have finished your tour and left the exhibition area, you cannot return to it.
4. Due to the lack of a lift in the building and the height differences that need to be negotiated, access to the exhibition for people with mobility impairments is limited.
5. In the Branch, it is forbidden to consume food and drink, smoke tobacco or e-cigarettes, or make phone calls. Photo shoots and the taking of photographs for commercial purposes require the Museum’s permission.
